Gen 13:10 And Lot lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan, that it was well watered everywhere (before the LORD destroyed Sodom and Gomorrah) like the garden of the LORD, like the land of Egypt as you go toward Zoar.
Gen 13:11 Then Lot chose for himself all the plain of Jordan, and Lot journeyed east. And they separated from each other.
Herdsmen Abraham’s livestock and herdsmen of Lot’s livestock had strife. Abraham gave the first choice to Lot to choose the land he wants to have and whatever is left he will be satisfied with that. Lot took the opportunity and lifted his eyes and saw all the plain of Jordan. It was good; It was beautiful and economically great. Lot may have thought wow how great it is that I am getting the chance to choose the land first.
Well he didn’t know what God knew about the land and he didn’t care what God thought about the land. He depended on his own wisdom and intelligence. Wisdom and Intelligence doesn’t know the future but God know exactly what is going to happen in the future.
When Lot had taken the land that seemed to be the best and had separated from Abraham. God asked Abraham to lift up his eyes and look. And from the place he was every direction his eyes could see God granted to him and his descendents.
Abraham got God’s best in the land of Canaan. Not only that Abraham received the promise that no one else can have.
Gen 13:15 "for all the land which you see I give to you and your descendants forever.
Gen 13:16 "And I will make your descendants as the dust of the earth; so that if a man could number the dust of the earth, then your descendants also could be numbered.
Are you thinking that the plans you have made are wonderful? Probably not. God is definitely having a much more bigger and greater plan for you. He wants to give you beyond your imagination. Only if you can trust Him.
